Hi my name is Asha and I’m running for AFS Cal-Neva Chapter President! I have currently been serving as Treasurer for the chapter for the past year and a half and have enjoyed every second of it. I originally got involved in the chapter as interim treasurer so that I could step back into the fisheries world. I enjoy my current position as treasurer, but I would like the opportunity to help further the fishy community and grow connections with everyone more! I look forward to potentially serving as President of the chapter and thank you all for your time! One of my all-time favorite fish (and the one that I've spent most of my career working with) would be the Chinook salmon (take your pick on which ESU haha).

Hi everyone, my name is Marzia Fattori, and I’m a Biologist at ECORP Consulting with a background in marine biology and fisheries science. I earned my Master’s in Natural Resource Sciences (Fisheries Biology) from Cal Poly Humboldt. My experience spans aquaculture, fisheries, marine science, and environmental consulting, and I’ve worked with a range of species including fish, marine mammals, seabirds, and terrestrial wildlife. At my current job, I’m part of the aquatics team, where I support fish rescues and contribute to hydroacoustic, air noise, and biological monitoring efforts to help protect aquatic resources. In my free time, I enjoy paddle boarding, wildlife photography, free diving, hiking, and spending time outdoors. I’m interested in joining the AFS officer team as Secretary to stay engaged with the fisheries community and contribute to the chapter through communication and outreach.
You can review the Cal-Neva AFS chapter bylaws here. The current bylaws were approved in April 2018.
