Check out these Cal-Neva AFS grants!

1) Semi-Annual Travel Grant – APPLICATIONS DUE FRIDAY, JUNE 26TH

  • Cal-Neva AFS will for deserving students or young professionals to support their attendance at the 2026 American Fisheries Society Meeting in Columbus, OH from August 30 to September 3, 2026. You can learn more about this meeting here.
  • Any member* of Cal-Neva AFS who is active in fisheries, environmental sciences and management, or related aquatic disciplines is eligible to apply. The Cal-Neva AFS Executive Committee will select up to 2 awardees. Selection is based on academic qualifications, professional service, and reasons for attending the event. Preference will be given to 1) Cal-Neva AFS members in good standing AND 2) who are attending the conference to presenting their research or to attend trainings essential to their development, AND 3) establish financial need. Additionally, preference will be given to those who have not previously been awarded a Cal-Neva AFS Semi-Annual Travel Grant. 

     

  • Funding support of up to $750.00 will be made available for up to 2 successful applicants for the second half of [year].

  • All awardees must submit an article to the AFS newsletter Pisces summarizing the event which was identified for being the reason for travel no later than 1 month after the event.

2) Small Grants Program –  APPLICATIONS OPEN MONDAY, JUNE 29TH AND DUE MONDAY, AUGUST 3RD

4) Requests for Donations from CAL-NEVA AFS

  • Cal-Neva AFS may donate funds toward special projects and special events that align with the chapter’s mission. This can include meetings, workshops, and/or projects. All requests for sponsorships and/or donations must be approved by the Cal-Neva AFS Executive Committee prior to being awarded. We recommend that requests be submitted at least 2 months prior to the event to allow adequate time for approval and dispersal of funds.
