Cal-Neva Milestones: Recent Retirements – Celebrating Successful Careers

John Hamilton, Fish Biologist, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Yreka Fish and Wildlife Office

Last month the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service recognized the 38-year career of one of our fellow colleagues, John Hamilton.  John has been a member of the American Fisheries Society since 1979.  Over his 38 years, he has worked in Michigan, Alaska, and served in the Peace Corps in the Philippines.  For the last 15 years, John has been the hydropower branch chief for the Yreka Fish and Wildlife Office.  There he was responsible for researching migratory fish distributions and writing science-based recommendations to provide safe, effective, and timely fish passage, including the lower four dams on the Klamath River.  Read more about John’s story here.
